Statistics project was launched in April 2003 in order to populate the eEG7 SMILe model with statistic reporting data and creation of a XML schema for submission. Statistics is, also in the insurance sector, deeply involved in interchange of data. The volume and the content of statistical data in exchange could be different in each country, but there can also be found a list of common statistical data - the same in each country. The international sets of statistical data for reporting to the CEA (Comité Européen des Assurances) is considered here. Therefore we conclude that the data exchange between national insurance associations and the CEA have priority.

Scope

The scope of the project is to add international insurance statistical reporting data requirements to the existing eEG7 SMILe repository by:

• Harmonising with existing SMILe elements where there is overlap
• Adding data requirements where no existing SMILe element exists

Deliverables

• A new version of the SMILe data dictionary that includes all international insurance statistical reporting data elements
• A new version of the SMILe Object Class Model that includes all additional international insurance statistical reporting classes
• XML Schemas for the equivalent ‘spreadsheet’ statistical reporting submissions

Global Relationships

• UN/CEFACT TBG8 (Insurance) group to ensure consistency with developing global standards,
• CEA, UN/CEFACT TBG7 (Statistics)
